4th of July Firework Safety

As Independence day approaches on the 4th of July fireworks safety is important. With it being just around the corner, OSHA reminds bosses in the firecrackers and fireworks industry to protect specialists from safety dangers while assembling, putting away, shipping, displaying, and selling fireworks during the 4th of July. As indicated by the Agency's 2011 Compliance Policy for the Manufacture, Storage, Sale, Handling, Use, and Display of Pyrotechnics (CPL 02-01-053), OSHA will reference the Process Safety Management (PSM) standard at 29 CFR 1910.119, and the Explosive and Blasting Agents standard at 29 CFR 1910.109, when investigating firecrackers and fireworks offices and activities. While manufacturing, storing, transporting, displaying, and selling fireworks for public events, workers and employers in the fireworks and pyrotechnics industry are being urged by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to be vigilant of possible hazards.
